Balance your Nutrition

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Eating every 3 hours will keep your metabolism balanced. Take into consideration what you are eating now. I mean what does it look like? Now, visualize each plate and look at what it offers in fueling your body for its needs.

Look at 3 categories—1. Protein—Lean meats, fish, chicken, turkey, egg whites, are some examples that feed your muscles. Protein is for muscle growth and tissue repair. 2. Starchy carbohydrates—Potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat breads, grain cereals, barley, lentils, and beans are a few. Starchy carbs are used for the bodys energy requirements. These have lots of calories for a small amount, so small serving sizes is a must.

 3. Fiberous Carbohydrates—Broccoli, greenbeans, asparagus, spinach, zucchini, green leafy salads, apples. Fiberous carbs have very few calories per serving, they help break down the foods in order to aid digestion. —-
